I was laid off from my job of 4.5 years at the beginning of January and this really hit home. I'm in that in between stage of grieving a job and employer I considered friends - to building myself back up. All your tips are spot on. Eat good food, go for the walk, read a book, love on the people around you, etc... Thank you for sharing ✨
I always feel so hesitant to admit that I'm facing any kind of resistance. This quote, though "Resistance is often the culprit behind making tricky situations, busy weekends, and seasons of overwhelm feel a lot worse than they need to. Total acceptance is the key to finding relief, as well as freeing up brain space to come up with creative solutions to managing whatever is going on for you." is such an excellent point.
Thank you for this. It has helped me see my own flop era in a new light.
I saw your post in a tiktok, it was in the recommended list and the title caught me, I am here. I am new to this place, the first post I read here is yours and your notes with little cozy pictures, your feelings with you share with your heart, you feel and open them to us, this means a lot, let's don't say flop era maybe our recharging era. When we charge, we will see the happy expression on our face again someday, candidly. Thank you for writing this post, sending love on your way..🩷
that is so cool to hear- i would love to know which creator shared if you happen to remember? thanks so much for the loving comment- and i love the reframe to *recharge* era! going to try that out next time i am in the pits :)
As a former PhD student (turned drop out/mastered out) I just got feedback on my largest paper ever back, and it was rough to read. My mentor is super cool and a really nice guy, but I am so sensitive about my writing being critiqued, I did not sleep well for days. From what I understand, it's super normal to HATE feedback time. To reframe it with your gratitude practice, " I am grateful for my mentors feedback, even if I thought my draft was good enough and it hurts my feelings. I am grateful that I have a mentor that will take the time to really read my work and help me become better, so many graduate students do not have this. Thank you, thank you, thank you".
I needed to read this so badly, Julia. I need to start start adopting this mindset. Also, your hood looks so amazing - I love the wool color that you chose!
I’m in my flop era too and I didn’t have a name for it until now. Thank you so much for writing this and sharing your thoughts around gratitude. I think the fact you got this published proves that you’re maybe not as floppy as you think. Be kind to yourself 💗
Omg I referenced The Magic on my recent article on Manifestation!! My own flop era in 2019 was the precursor to my glow up in 2020. So have no fear, Good things are on the way- especially when you align yourself with positive energy and gratitude!!
If you want to feel better, you can read about my own flop era 🫶😅

feels like we are all going through it these days!
Same. Thank you! ❤️
